Wholesome Meals for Babies (Earths Best)

New Wholesome Meals for Babies:

New Earths Best Organic Fruit and Grain Purees hit shelves last month!

The finer in whole grains helps baby stay satisfied longer after meals and snacks and each variety contains 45% of the daily value of Vitamin C. Whole grains contain all three layers of the grain, making this new product naturally richer in vitamins and minerals as compared to baby foods manufactured with refined grains, where vitamins and minerals may be stripped away due to processing.

Here you can see my little Chloe deciding upon which awesome lunch she should taste! Earths Best Apple Plum and Kamut wins! Usually I squeeze the puree out onto a spoon, but before I could get the spoon Chloe got ahold of the pouch and figured out how to get it herself! (Little Miss Independent!)

She really seemed to like this! I admit that feeding Chloe lunch is usually a challenge, but this was a very easy alternative! I am happy to say she finished it off and I felt good that she loaded up with hearty whole grains and organic fruit!

The new Organic Fruit and Grain Purees will available in Apple Peach Oatmeal, Apple Plum Kamut, Banana Raspberry Brown Rice and Pear Apricot Barley.

Peloponnese Review and Giveaway

I was so excited to open up the box of Peloponnese Greek foods! I was having a get together with some friends, and was happy to serve up some natural products that are incredibly party friendly!

I paired up each of these with some all natural sea salt tortilla chips and away we sampled!

The favourite was the hummus! It had a bit of a tangy taste to it, but it was smooth and enjoyable. You also can't beat that it is a healthy alternative to most dips! This one is high fiber and made with healthy olive oil.

The other favourite was the roasted red peppers! Super versatile too! I put them on toast with goat cheese and grilled zucchini! Yum! I would also imagine that this would be awesome on a pizza too!

I was happy to sample these products and I am also happy to share the love with you! Peloponnese is offering the same items for you to win! Enter the contest below! Good luck!

Egg Whites vs. Whole Eggs

Eggs are an easy and convenient meal any time of the day! I usually find that I make an egg omelette loaded with veggies for lunch. This article from fit sugar explains that mixing a whole egg with egg whites gets you your best nutritional punch! I make my omelette with 1 whole egg, and 4 egg whites. Its perfect!!! :)

Egg Whites vs. Whole Eggs

Updated 03/10/12 6:01 PM · Posted  by FitSugar · 26 Comments
If you're looking to cut calories, fat, and cholesterol from your diet, you may choose an omelet made of egg whites instead of whole eggs for breakfast. But is choosing egg whites over whole eggs really the best choice nutritionally?
The only way to find out is to do a little comparing, so continue reading to check out my chart comparing eggs to egg whites.
Two large eggsThree egg whitesOne large egg plus two egg whites
Fat10 g.2 g5.1 g
Sat. Fat4 g0 g2 g
Cholesterol422 mg0 mg211 mg
Sodium140 mg164 mg180 mg
Protein12 g10.8 g13.2 g
Riboflavin (B2).4 mg.3 mg.4 mcg
Vitamin B121.2 mcg0 mcg.6 mcg
Vitamin D35 IU0 IU17.5 IU
Iron1.8 mg0 mg.9 mg
As you can see from the chart, choosing straight up egg whites does lower the omelet's calories, fat, and cholesterol content, but it also makes the meal void of vitamins B2, B12, D, and iron. If you're concerned about getting enough of those nutrients, a good option would be to eat an omelet made of one whole egg and two egg whites. It's still low in calories, fat, and cholesterol, but you'll get some vitamins from the egg yolk.

Top 10 GMO food to avoid eating

  1. TOMATOES: the #1 gmo food out there!!
  2. COTTON: it  is considered a food because its oil is consumed
  3. CANOLA: on of the most chemically altered foods
  4. ASPARTAME: a horrible artificial sweetener
  5. DAIRY: 1 out of every 5 dairy cows are given growth hormones to increase milk production!

1/2 Marathon Goal completed!!!!

The level of excitement was just so awesome! I was entering the race on such minimal sleep, as Chloe has been sick all week, and the night before was no exception. She was up every hour, and really struggling with her cold. I was also coming off a head cold! So lack of sleep and sickness were not in my favour for race day, however that didn't stop me! I showed up to meet some of my running friends and as soon as I seen them, I forgot all about my difficult night. I was now focused and excited!!!

What a rush! The entire race was perfect for me! I felt strong, confident and proud to be running alongside so many amazing women!

I followed behind the 2 hour pace bunny the majority of the race and that at the very end I gave it my all and sprinted to the finish line! I finished at 1:57! I am super happy about that time!

I have found a new love and appreciation for running!
